How is a Lab build scoped and priced?
Every Lab build starts with a Discovery engagement (included in the build fee) that produces a clear architecture and fixed-fee proposal before development begins. The $50K floor reflects the minimum viable scope for a custom system that actually carries operational leverage. Most builds land between $50K and $150K depending on complexity.

Our build fee starts at $50,000. That floor reflects the minimum viable scope for a custom system that delivers meaningful operational leverage—below that threshold, it’s usually more effective to configure an existing tool than to build something bespoke.
Most projects land between $50,000 and $150,000, depending on:
- Overall scope
- Number and type of integrations
- Complexity of the domain logic
Every Lab engagement begins with a Discovery phase to define the architecture before any development starts. Discovery is included in the build fee—it is not billed as a separate phase.
At the end of Discovery, you receive a fixed-fee proposal that details:
- Each major component of the system
- All integration requirements
- The implementation timeline
- The total project cost
You only commit to the build after you’ve seen the full scope and price, and there are no scope surprises after you sign.
In the very first conversation, we can provide a rough range based on your description of the problem. This is purely directional—not a commitment or formal proposal—so you can quickly tell whether the investment level is in the right ballpark before spending more time.
