For most clients, the IT setup for Vantage is lightweight. Your IT team typically spends 2–4 hours during Phase 1 to provide CRM API credentials, confirm data source access, and review the architecture document. Fulcrum handles all technical configuration and ongoing infrastructure.
What your IT team needs to do
1. Generate CRM API credentials
Vantage connects to your CRM via API with read/write permissions to the scoped modules.
- Your CRM admin creates a service account or API key.
- Permissions are scoped to the modules Vantage uses.
- Fulcrum provides a detailed spec of required permissions.
- Typically required:
- Read access to: contacts, accounts, deals
- Write access to: the specific fields Vantage uses
2. Confirm data source access
If Vantage connects to additional data sources beyond your CRM, your IT team confirms and configures access during Phase 1.
Examples of additional data sources:
- Document repositories
- A second internal system
- A LinkedIn or similar external feed
These connections are identified in Phase 1 and set up in collaboration with your IT team.
3. Review the architecture document
During Phase 1, Fulcrum provides a complete architecture document that covers:
- Every data connection
- Every system that touches client data
- The security posture of each system
- Data flows between systems
Your IT team can review this document, ask questions, and request clarifications before Vantage goes live.
What your IT team does not need to do
No infrastructure to manage
- Vantage runs in an isolated tenant environment managed by Fulcrum.
- Your team does not provision servers, manage databases, or maintain any part of the system.
